TRAP YOGA

Trap = Hustle. Our signature Trap Yoga class is a combination of high paced, active Ashtanga yoga and deep Southern bass that results in the experience of a life time. The spiritual practice of yoga, when coupled with the explosive baselines of a soulfully rooted southern sound, feels electric. This class is for students that embody the Khepera Wellness motto of “Evolve Your Self.” The experience was designed to challenge every student every time in the perfect way. The motivational sounds are coupled with caring instruction; this means that you will be given options to challenge yourself at every stage of your practice (beginner to experienced) while being encouraged to listen to your body and breath. 

 

This power yoga class is a great option for students that are active currently, whether they have practiced prior or not. Join us for the journey that lasts a life time motivated by the heart of the street.

BLACK GIRL MAGIC YOGA

Black Girl Magic is a practice involving steady awareness and deep relaxation. A detoxifying practice that provides space for Black women to fellowship with one another and creates a community of support and growth. This practice is for all levels and is especially good for beginners.  You will feel rested and rejuvenated after this practice in a different way than any other yoga class.

BLACK GIRL MAGIC YOGA

Black Girl Magic was created as a safe space for Black Women to celebrate each other and share their experiences. We believe black women are the wisest voice in our community yet we know they are often the most ignored. This space turns that reality upside down. Specifically focused on the black female experience, the Black Girl Magic class is always taught by a black woman instructor with a point of focus provided at the beginning of class for the group to reflect on throughout. Classes may end with a group discussion and all students are encouraged to listen and share. 

All people are welcome to this class with one rule: uplift the black women in the room. This class is beginner to intermediate focused with each instructor offering their own style of the class. Classes are generally restorative focused but may have some vinyasa elements as well.

SOUL FLOW

The Soul Flow experience is a our softer response to the traditional Trap and Hip Hop Yoga classes. Grounding is the perfect word for this experience. We move slowly to enhance the experience of the body being led by the breath. The breath is the main driver of the class with postures close to or on the ground for the majority of the time.  We believe that the breath is a steady reminder of your connection to the moment your soul experiences. When we take the time to listen to the breath and allow the body time to rest we feel that internal, invisible tether to the world around us: the soul.

 

Set to classic soul records from the 70s to today, one can expect to hear anyone from Teddy P. to Jill to Erykah and every soul artist in between in this vinyasa yoga experience. Perfect for beginners, this class is open to all.

PRIMARY SERIES

The Ashtanga Yoga Primary Series is a traditional sequence of postures first introduced in America by Pattabhi Jois. This wise yogi devised a system of postures that teach the body and mind control through effort. The primary series postures are gateways into the higher level postures encouraged in Trap Yoga classes. These fundamental postures when stacked together leave the body feeling the cool sense of release and a content feeling of accomplishment in the mind. This is the perfect practice for students seeking a constant path to follow in their yoga practice.

 

Experience Level: Beginner – Intermediate
Vibes: Silent, Ambient Sounds, Instrumentals, House

ONLINE COURSES

A restorative yoga practice is a perfect compliment to our power yoga schedule. Postures will be moved into slowly while making necessary adjustments to ensure complete comfort and ease.  This practice eases the parasympathetic nervous system helping to relieve stress, nourish the body and stretch connective tissue. With a soundtrack of 80s, 90s, and contemporary R&B artists we dive deep into the body and breathe to find stillness and release.
